The Academic English Online course is designed to improve your English for academic study and prepare you for the world of undergraduate or postgraduate study abroad in an English speaking University.

By the end of this course you will be able to;
​
- Read and understand informative and academic articles
- Understanding essay questions and the expected answers
- Identify main ideas and extract key factual information within texts
- Have a more advanced, academic vocabulary
- Have a more advanced, academic understanding of grammar
- Give formal, academic presentations
- Understand the importance of fact checking and citation
- Organise and outline your ideas clearly in an essay answer
- Communicate with fellow students in a discussion, debate, or group situation
- Feel confident using the English language at a more advanced level

This course will also give you an insight into;
​
- What is to be expected of students at an English speaking university
- The type of topics you might come across
- The type of feedback you could receive from professors and lecturers
- Cultural differences you may need to be aware of
